This whole series has read like she has no queer friends, has never had any queer friends, and has no plans to ever have any queer friends. This book by itself was disregarded at best. I did read the whole series because I was interested in the series plot, but I read it on KU and would recommend that no one who enjoys gay romance buy it. I thought the characters were often interesting, but the relationships were train wrecks and only there to write sex scenes. The whole series seems like just an attempt to cash in on the MM romance market. The first book is really good. Read that, as long as you can read one book of a series and ditch it. The rest of the series is terrible, and I can say that as someone who did read the whole thing. If I had it to do over, I would tell myself not to get involved. It says a lot about Amy's talent as an author that even characters you start off not liking too much grow on you till you like them. At the beginning I didn't like mathias but as he grew in the story so did my respect for him. I like how the story ended. And I felt it was very fitting. What I am excited about is the new beginning of a M\M romance in the spell singer universe. I look forward to the next story from Amy's talented mind. It keeps you on the edge of your seat as you read and vant put it down. I got it today and just finished it. And I cant wait for the next series that will be coming soon the little tidbit at the end made me want to keep reading that also I hope everyone who has followed this series also enjoys all of miss Sumidas other works she is one fantastic writer that I adore. I like the world created, I like the magic, I don't even mind the repetitiveness (much less so in this book), but the sexual assaults - yes, even between mates - and complete lack of boundaries as well as Bi-phobia is very problematic.
